■ Many homes are built "too tight", causing serious problems in the future! It is done in order to save as much expensive energy as possible. Unfortunately this will trap moisture inside your home and cause mold problems, if a costly ventilation system is not included in the construction. While superior systems have been used in Scandinavia for many years, the "tight" construction appears to be the method of choice in the US today. In the EuroHomes, moisture will escape through the exterior walls, after it's recycled.
■ The EuroHomes envelope (the walls, roof and floor, including window and doors) has a 2.5 times higher insulation value (R-value) than local codes, including an insulation that cannot burn or harbor mold.
■ Although our construction will be healthier, and save money, your choice of heating and cooling will really make the difference! According to years of research, heat pumps are reasonable, but radiant heat powered by geothermal energy is far superior (as long as solar panels are still being perfected).
■ Besides the essential systems, EuroHomes will provide other benefits, for example, radon and unhealthy glue protection, ergonomic appliances, tile roofs, rain water reservoir, etc.
